All 6 design practices in Nashik listed on MOA, every one a COA-verified architect, with services, experience and direct contact, plus the NMC and NMRDA rules to know.
Updated 17 Oct 2026: this list is built from the public profiles on Member of Architecture on that date. Details such as services and completed-project counts are supplied by each studio. Check the profile, and ask for references, before you appoint anyone.
There are 6 design practices in Nashik listed on Member of Architecture, and all six are architecture studios whose Council of Architecture registration MOA has verified. Five of them also offer interior design. None has published a finished project on MOA yet, so this page lists every one with what they say they do and how to reach them directly, plus a short note on the Nashik building rules that shape what you should ask.
Worth being straight about the basis, because many "top architects" lists are advertising in disguise. This is not a ranking of the best architects in Nashik: nobody can credibly produce that. It is every practice on MOA that works in the city, ordered by the number of completed projects they report and then alphabetically, because none has published work on MOA yet.

Across the 6 practices listed, the services on offer are: 3d-Rendering, Construction Drawings, Design Consultancy, Furniture Design, Interior Designing, Liaison, Plan Approvals, Turn-Key Projects. Not every studio does everything, so check the individual profiles. Scope is the most common source of disagreement later on.
Two of the six, Datar Architects and Swarali Designs, also work in Pune. If your project is there, our directory of architects in Pune lists more studios.
Before you brief anyone, work out which authority your plot falls under, because it decides where your architect files. Inside city limits that is the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC). Its Town Planning Department handles building permission, revised permission, zone certificates, plinth completion and completion certificates, and sends applicants to the state's online Building Plan Management System (BPMS). Around the city, the Nashik Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA), set up on 21 March 2017, covers about 2,649 sq km and 275 villages in Nashik taluka and parts of Niphad, Sinnar, Dindori, Trimbakeshwar and Igatpuri. Its building permission department works to the sanctioned Regional Plan of 2013 and the UDCPR.
Both follow the Unified Development Control and Promotion Regulations (UDCPR), the state rulebook for Maharashtra outside Greater Mumbai and a few special areas. The latest consolidated copy from the Directorate of Town Planning (updated to 30 January 2025) has a few lines written for Nashik alone:
Rules change by notification, so ask your architect to check the current position for your plot. Under the NMRDA's own service table, a zone certificate takes 7 days and a building permission or occupancy certificate 30 days once all objections are met. Inside NMC, the corporation publishes a short guide to checking an application's status on BPMS.
Most homeowners ask about fees first and regret it. These tell you more:
For a longer checklist, see 15 questions to ask before hiring an architect or interior designer.
Three models cover most of the Indian market: a percentage of project cost, a rate per square foot, or a fixed fee for a defined scope. Percentage fees are common on larger residential work, and per-square-foot pricing is more usual for apartment interiors and renovations. Ask which model a studio uses before discussing numbers, because the same total looks very different under each. Our guide to architect and interior designer fees goes into more detail.
You need a qualified professional, though not necessarily an architect. Under the UDCPR, plans are signed by the owner and an architect, town planner or licensed engineer or supervisor (Regulation 2.2.16). An architect registered with the Council of Architecture does not need a separate registration with NMC or NMRDA, but submits the COA certificate, and can submit all the plans, the structural details for a building on a plot up to 500 sq m of up to three storeys or 11 m, and the supervision and completion certificate (Appendix C-2). Interior work inside an existing flat usually does not need a permission, but anything affecting structure, plumbing stacks or the facade generally does, and housing societies have their own rules.
Inside the corporation limits it is NMC. NMRDA covers 275 villages around the city, and lists them on its website. Both issue zone certificates, so the authority that issues yours is the one you file with. If the seller cannot say, ask your architect to confirm before you buy.
Design and drawings typically take two to four months, approvals vary by authority and by how complete the file is, and construction of a full house usually takes a year or more. Apartment interiors are faster, commonly three to five months from design to handover.
No. Enquiries go straight to the studio, with no commission on either side.
Look for COA verification on their MOA profile, or confirm their registration with the Council of Architecture. Our COA guide explains how.
