Home decor in Jaipur by type: lighting stores and walled-city light shops, hand-knotted rugs with listed prices, GI-tagged blue pottery and block prints, and the 2026 exhibitions.
For home decor in Jaipur, shop by type rather than by one big market: lighting from brand stores and the walled-city light shops, rugs from the city's hand-knotting makers, and accent pieces from Jaipur's own crafts, chiefly blue pottery and the block prints of Sanganer and Bagru, which hold registered geographical indications (GIs). Below is where each one is, what the published prices are, and what to check before you pay.
About this guide: every place named here comes from its own website, a brand's official store locator, a government page or a news report, linked inline and listed under Sources. Sections are grouped by type of product, not ranked. No business paid to appear and MOA takes no commission. Prices are listed prices seen online on 31 October 2026, including whatever the seller's page includes; they are not quotes, and they change.
Jaipur's decor trade is spread out. Branded lighting sits in showrooms in the newer colonies, rugs come from makers with their own galleries, and the old walled-city bazaars still carry textiles, quilts and carved pieces. The Jaipur Development Authority lists blue pottery, carpets and textiles among the items visitors look for most (JDA). The card below is the short version of this post.
For fans, downlights, profiles and decorative fittings from a national brand, start with that brand's own store locator, not a directory listing. As one example, Havells' official locator for Jaipur lists "Havells Galaxy" stores in Jagatpura, Kalwar, Mansarovar, Pratap Nagar, Shanti Nagar, Vaishali Nagar and the Vishwakarma Industrial Area, and "Home Art Light" stores in Jhotwara and Mansarovar, alongside authorised retailers (Havells store locator). Other lighting brands publish their own locators; use those the same way, and ask the store whether it is an authorised dealer, because that decides who honours the warranty.
Before Diwali 2025, PTI reported from three walled-city markets: traders in Jayanti Bazaar said bulbs and tube lights there were made locally while decorative items came from Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru, and traders' groups in MI Road and Kishanpole Bazaar were backing Indian-made lights and lamps (ThePrint, PTI, 28 Sept 2025). These markets suit festive strings, lamps and small decorative fittings. We found no news report or official page that names a dedicated chandelier market in Jaipur, so we do not point you to one.
Rug labels in Jaipur tell you how the rug was made, and that drives the price. In a hand-knotted rug every knot is tied on a loom; turn it over and you see the knots like pixels, and the more knots per square inch, the longer it took to weave. Jaipur Rugs describes the Persian knot (yarn wrapped round one warp and passed under the next) and the Tibetan knot (yarn looped round two warps and a rod, then cut to form the pile), and says weavers can spend up to a year on one rug (Jaipur Rugs, The Craft). Hand-tufted and hand-loom rugs are listed as separate techniques, and flat weaves such as dhurries have no pile at all.
Jaipur Rugs, the company, was founded in 1978 by Nand Kishore Chaudhary with two looms and nine weavers, is headquartered in Jaipur, works with artisans across five states, and began selling in the Indian market in 2016 (Jaipur Rugs, The Company). Its store page lists two places in the city: a store at Mansarovar Industrial Area and the Jaipur Rugs Gallery in the Kanota Courtyard of Hotel Narain Niwas Palace on Narayan Singh Road, both open 10 am to 8 pm (Jaipur Rugs, Jaipur store).
The same page shows what the Jaipur store stocks, with listed prices on 31 October 2026:
Its filters show price bands starting under ₹20,000 and sizes starting at 2 x 3 ft, then 3 x 5, 4 x 6, 5 x 8 and 6 x 9 ft, with more listed. Some items showed discounts; ask what the in-store price includes before you compare.
Rajasthan Tourism says carpets and dhurries came to Rajasthan when weavers from Afghanistan were invited to the Mughal ateliers in the 17th century. For cotton or camel-hair dhurries it points to Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Salawas near Jodhpur, and for namdas, a felted woollen rug, to the area around Tonk, about 95 km south of Jaipur (Rajasthan Tourism). In our view a flat dhurrie is easier to shake out and keep clean than a deep pile in a dusty city.
Not that we could find. We searched the GI registry for a Jaipur carpet or rug entry and found none; the hand-made carpet GI that does exist belongs to Bhadohi in Uttar Pradesh (GI Registry, application 148). Treat any "GI-tagged Jaipur rug" claim with care and ask the seller for the registration.
Measure before you go. A 5 x 8 ft or 6 x 9 ft rug suits most Indian living rooms with a three-seater sofa, and a dining rug should run about 2 ft past the table on every side so the chairs stay on it when pulled out. These are common-practice figures, not a standard.
"Blue Pottery of Jaipur" is a registered geographical indication. The registry shows application 66, filed on 14 August 2006 by the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), with certificate 74 dated 10 July 2008, in class 21 for handicrafts from Rajasthan (GI Registry, application 66). A GI logo was registered separately in 2017 (application 540). Some articles give 2009 as the year; we go by the registry.
No clay is used. NABARD, which supported the GI registration, describes a dough of quartz stone powder, powdered glass, borax, gum, multani mitti (fuller's earth) and water, with the blue coming from cobalt oxide; it calls the art Turko-Persian in origin (NABARD). Rajasthan Tourism adds copper oxide for the turquoise shades and says the craft was introduced to Rajasthan by the Mughals and came to Jaipur from Persia and Afghanistan. Its modern revival is tied to the painter Kripal Singh Shekhawat, who took it up with Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay's encouragement, taught it from a studio in Bani Park, guided training centres in Neota village in the early 1980s, and received the Padma Shri in 1974 (DAG). Ask whether a piece is meant for food or for display (our guidance).
Beyond plates and vases, Rajasthan Tourism lists door knobs and glazed tiles with hand-painted floral designs (Rajasthan Tourism). For a designer these are the useful pieces: a band of tiles behind a washbasin or around a pooja niche, knobs on a plain wardrobe, a row of planters on a balcony. Ask for a few spare tiles, because handmade batches vary in shade.
Rajasthan Tourism says the craft is practised mainly in Jaipur and to a lesser extent in Sanganer, Mahalan and Neota. Of the makers, Outlook Traveller has profiled Neerja International, founded in 1978 by Leela Bordia, with a retail showroom at Anand Bhawan, Jacob Road, Civil Lines (Outlook Traveller). For a price reference, the Rajasthan government's eBazaar listed a small blue pottery planter from RAJEEVIKA, the state's rural livelihoods body, at ₹514.01 after a 10% discount on ₹571.12 (eBazaar Rajasthan). We found no published rate card for blue pottery tiles; ask for a per-piece price and the tile size in writing.
Block-printed textiles. Curtains, cushion covers, bed linen and Jaipuri quilts are where Jaipur's prints enter a home. Both "Sanganeri Hand Block Printing" (certificate dated 19 March 2010) and "Bagru Hand Block Print" (certificate dated 11 May 2011) are registered GIs (GI Registry, 147; 183). To learn the difference before you buy fabric by the metre, the Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing is in Anokhi Haveli, Keri Gate, Amer (Anokhi Museum). In the walled city, the Jaipur Municipal Corporation lists Sireh Deori Gate and Aravali Bazaar for home decor, quilts, cushions and bedspreads (Jaipur Municipal Corporation).
Brass and metal. Rajasthan Tourism describes the state's metal crafts as figurines, pillboxes, photo frames and vases, available throughout the state. We found no official source or news report naming one brass market in Jaipur, so we do not name one. Ask whether a piece is solid brass or plated, and whether it is lacquered against tarnish.
Stone and carved pieces. The same JMC page lists Chandpole Bazaar for marble artefacts and handcrafts, and Kishanpole Bazaar for decorative items and Rajasthani fabric. For marble as flooring rather than decor, see the separate Jaipur marble and Kishangarh guide in this series, coming soon.
We could not confirm a dedicated home decor exhibition in Jaipur for the rest of 2026. What we found:
What a designer adds is judgement: which pieces fit the room's light, scale and colour, and which suppliers deliver on time. Fees for that work are explained in our guide to interior designer fees. If you are still building, budget the shell first with the Jaipur home construction cost guide and MOA's free Jaipur cost calculator. For studios, see our list of interior designers in Jaipur.

Yes. "Blue Pottery of Jaipur" is registered in the GI registry as application 66, with certificate 74 dated 10 July 2008.
There is no single one. The Jaipur Municipal Corporation lists Sireh Deori Gate and Aravali Bazaar for home decor, quilts and cushions, Chandpole for marble artefacts and Kishanpole for decorative items; branded lighting and rugs are sold from showrooms elsewhere in the city.
It depends on technique, fibre and size. On 31 October 2026 Jaipur Rugs listed a 2'6" x 4 ft hand-loom wool rug at ₹9,980, 5 x 8 ft hand-knotted wool and bamboo silk rugs at ₹79,800, and a 6 x 9 ft wool and silk rug at ₹3,00,510.
We could not confirm one for the rest of 2026. India Stonemart ran in Jaipur in February 2026, and the IHGF Delhi Fair, a trade show, lists its next edition for 15 to 19 March 2027.
Brand stores are spread across the colonies; Havells' locator, for example, lists stores in Jagatpura, Mansarovar, Pratap Nagar and Vaishali Nagar. For festive lights, PTI reported from Jayanti Bazaar, MI Road and Kishanpole Bazaar.
