A step-by-step guide to the MOA Pro Promote tab: how the 60 monthly credits work, promoting your profile or a project in up to 3 cities, stopping early, and four ways to plan a month.
City promotion is the MOA Pro feature that puts your profile, or one of your projects, on the home page of people browsing MOA from up to three cities you choose. You get 60 credits a month, and one credit buys one city for one day. Here is the Promote tab screen by screen, then how to plan the credits.
About the details below: every rule here was checked against MOA's Promote tab, home page and Analytics tab, and the MOA Pro page, on 21 Oct 2026. The screenshots come from the profile of MOA's founder, Saahil Khattri (13 Designs Studio). The plans and credit splits are our suggestion, not MOA rules. MOA does not promise a number of views, enquiries or projects from a promotion.
Promote is a tab on your own profile that only you can see. Open your profile and choose Promote (the address ends in ?tab=promote). It is part of MOA Pro: on the free plan the tab shows a locked page that describes the feature instead of the booking forms.
You can promote two things, and each appears in its own place:
Your profile. Your card (photo, name, studio, cities and a View Profile button) appears in a rail titled Featured architects, with a Sponsored tag on the card. The rail has that title for interior designers too.
One project. The project's card (hero image, project name, studio and city) appears in a rail titled Featured projects, and each card in that rail is tagged Sponsored.
Who sees it: signed-in visitors whose home page loads while they are browsing from a city you booked. MOA works out the city from the visitor's connection. If it cannot match one, it uses the cities on a signed-in member's own profile. People who are not signed in see MOA's landing page, which has no sponsored rails. So the audience is people signed in to MOA: homeowners with an account, but also students and other professionals.

60 a month. The card at the top of the Promote tab shows "Credits left this month" and the date they refill: the 1st of each month, India time.
One credit is one city for one day. The cost of a booking is cities × days. Three cities for 7 days is 21 credits.
Taken when you book, not as the days run. The whole cost leaves your balance the moment you press Book.
Counted in the month you book. A booking made on 28 October for dates in early November uses October's credits.
No carry-over. Each month starts again at 60, whatever was left from the month before.
Shared. Profile and project promotions draw on the same 60.

Open the Promote tab (your profile, Promote) and check your credits.
Choose cities (Promote your profile, Cities). Type a city into the "Enter Location" picker and add up to three.
Pick a start date (Starts on). It is set to today. You can choose any date from today to 30 days ahead.
Choose the length (For how many days). Tap 7, 14 or 30 days, or type any number from 1 to 30 in the box.
Read the cost line. Once a city is added, the form shows the sum, for example "2 cities × 14 days = 28 credits", the dates and what you will have left. If you are short, the Book button stays off.
Book. The button reads "Book for 28 credits". MOA confirms on screen and sends a notification with the cities, dates and credits used.

Below the profile form is Promote a project. It works the same way with one extra step at the top: choose the project from the picker. Only a published project can be booked. If you have none, the form says "Publish a project first, then promote it here."
The card shows only the hero image, name, studio and city, so pick a project whose hero image reads clearly at small size. Our guide to publishing projects on MOA covers choosing a hero image and writing the project details.
Your profile and a project can run in the same city on the same dates, each costing its own credits. What you cannot do is book the same profile, or the same project, in the same city for overlapping dates: MOA refuses it and names the city.

Every booking appears under Your promotions on the same tab, with its cities, dates, credits and a status: Scheduled, Running, Ended or Stopped. Scheduled and running promotions have a Stop button.
Stopping a scheduled promotion: it never starts, and all its credits come back.
Stopping a running promotion: it stays on until the end of today, then stops. Every day after today comes back. For example, 2 cities × 14 days costs 28 credits. Stop it on its fifth day and 5 days have run (10 credits), so 18 come back.
Where the credits go back to: the month you booked it in. If you booked in October and stop in November, the returned credits count toward October, not November's 60.
Promotions show only while your Pro plan is active. If Pro ends, booked promotions stop appearing on visitors' home pages.
Each rail holds up to 8 cards. If more than 8 studios have their profiles booked in the same city on the same day (or more than 8 projects), they take turns: MOA shuffles them into a new order each day, India time, the same order for everyone that day, and shows the first 8.
Credits pay for the days you booked, not for appearances: a day when the city is full and it is not your turn still counts. The Promote tab does not show how many others have booked a city.
Use the Analytics tab (also Pro, and also visible only to you) with the 7, 30 or 90 day range that covers your promotion:
How they found you lists "Your sponsored placement": visits from people who clicked your card in a sponsored rail, whether it was the profile card or a project card.
Where your visitors are lists the cities your visitors browse from.
Views per project shows whether a promoted project is being opened, by how many people and for how long.
When a promotion reaches its end date, MOA also sends a notification with the visits from your sponsored placement over those dates. A browser counts once per page every 30 minutes, so refreshing does not inflate the figure.
A visit is not an enquiry. Whether someone gets in touch depends on what they find: your projects, About details and fee. Our guide on how clients reach you on MOA covers that side.
Everything in this section is our suggestion, not an MOA rule.
Our suggested ways to split a month's 60 credits; each square is one city for one day. Illustrative, not a promise of results. Diagram: MOA
A. Three cities for 20 days (3 × 20 = 60). Suits a first month, when you are not sure which city responds. Compare the Analytics before the next month.
B. Two cities for a full month (2 × 30 = 60). A steady presence in two cities you already work in. In a 31-day month one day stays uncovered.
C. Profile at home, project away (1 × 30 + 2 × 15 = 60). Your profile all month at home, your strongest project for 15 days in two cities you want to work in.
D. A project's launch week (3 × 7 + 1 × 30 = 51). A new project's first week in three cities, your profile at home all month, and 9 credits kept back for a late opportunity.
Start from your Analytics. "Where your visitors are" shows the cities already looking at your work.
Book only cities you can serve.
Think about your own state. As a Pro member with a city in your state on your profile, you can already appear in the regional rail (titled "Architects in" and your state's name) for signed-in visitors in that state, rotated daily. Our reading: credits may go further in cities outside your state.
Publish the project first and check how its hero image looks as a small card. A draft cannot be booked.
Book it for its first week in up to three cities, starting the day it goes live or on a date up to 30 days ahead.
After the run, compare "Views per project" with the week before.
Near the end of a month, remember that credits count in the month you book. Credits still unspent in the last days of October can book dates in early November (within the 30-day window), and the 1st still brings a fresh 60.
City promotion works only on MOA. For comparison:
Google Business Profile is free. A business that visits clients can set up to 20 service areas by city or postal code, and Google advises keeping the whole area within about 2 hours' drive of the base. Google also says there is no way to pay for a better local ranking. Our Google Business Profile checklist walks through the setup.
Google Ads is paid advertising and can target countries, cities, postal codes or a radius of at least 1 km, either people in those places or people who have shown interest in them.
MOA city promotion costs nothing beyond Pro and uses fixed credits rather than a budget.
Free vs Pro: city promotion is Pro only. On the free plan the Promote tab is locked. Our MOA Pro explainer sets out everything else in the plan and who can stay on free.
60 a month, refilled on the 1st, India time. One credit is one city for one day, shared between profile and project promotions.
No. Each month starts at 60. Credits are counted in the month you book, so leftover credits at the end of a month can still book dates up to 30 days ahead.
One promotion covers up to three cities. You can book another promotion for other cities, as long as you have the credits.
MOA leaves you out of the rails on your own home page, and the rails show only to people browsing from the booked cities. Check its status under "Your promotions".
City promotion comes with MOA Pro, along with regional featuring and in-depth analytics. See MOA Pro: the first month is ₹99 + GST for new subscribers, then ₹399 + GST a month.
