Kitchen Cabinet Colour Trends 2027: Shades, Two-Tone Pairs and Finishes
Soft and deep greens, petrol blues, warm beige and wood lead kitchen cabinet colours for 2027. Here is where each comes from, how it reads in Indian light and which finish handles oil and haldi.

Kitchen cabinet colours for 2027 are moving to soft and deep greens, petrol blues, warm beige and wood, usually as two tones rather than one colour all over. Paint brands are naming greens for 2027, and Indian laminate makers are adding greens, beiges and anti-fingerprint matt shutters to their 2026 to 2027 ranges. Below is where each direction comes from, how it reads under Indian kitchen light, and which finish survives oil, tadka smoke and haldi.
About the trends below: every colour direction is tied to a source we opened on 18 October 2026: a paint brand's own page, a laminate maker's own collection page, design press, or an MOA member's project. Shade names, codes and LRVs (light reflectance values) are given exactly as each brand publishes them. Lines marked "our view" or "our guidance" are MOA's judgement. Indian paint brands: on 18 October 2026, Asian Paints' ColourNext page still showed its 2026 colour, Moonlit Silk (7809), and no 2027 colour (Asian Paints). Pantone names its colour in December. We will add both when they are out.
1. Soft greens move onto the shutters
Celery SW 6421 has an LRV of 71.3 in Sherwin-Williams' colour data, so it is a pale green that keeps a kitchen bright (Sherwin-Williams). In India, CenturyLaminates' new solids lean green and beige, and Greenlam's AFX range includes Sea weed green 9859. On MOA, Riddhima Namdev's Project Reframe (Hyderabad, 2025) shows sage-green tall and base units with a dark green stone counter.
How to use it at home
Our view: pale greens suit compact flats and one-window kitchens, because they reflect light like a beige but look fresher. Put the green on the base run or the tall units and keep wall units a warm white, so the kitchen does not become one green box.
2. Deep greens and petrol blues on the base units
The darker end is olive, bottle green and blue-green. Benjamin Moore's Webster Green HC-130 has an LRV of 20.2 (Benjamin Moore) and Artichoke SW 6179 has 21.3. Greenlam's AFX Twilight Blue 9860 has an LRV of just 5.50 (Greenlam). On MOA, Shilpa Baranwal's Madhusudan Row House (Surat, 2026) describes a parallel kitchen with "matte petrol-blue cabinetry, polished black granite counters, and full-height marble splashbacks".
How to use it at home
Our view: dark shutters belong low down, where kicks, steel vessels and mop splashes land and a deep colour hides scuffs better than white. Pair them with light wall units, and add a strip light under the wall units, because a dark base swallows light at the worktop.
3. Warm neutrals: beige, greige and warm whites
CenturyLaminates lists beige and warm pink alongside green among its new solids. Greenlam publishes LRVs for its AFX neutrals: White X 9851 at 92.85, Dove 9854 at 60.61 and Eden Grey 9852 at 17.57 (Greenlam). Sherwin-Williams pairs Celery with White Flour SW 7102, a white with a cream undertone. On MOA, Manya Babu's Coonoor kitchen (2024) uses "a neutral colour palette" with "warm-toned countertops", and Bharti Dangi's Jodhpur residence (2025) shows glossy grey shutters with a terrazzo counter.
How to use it at home
Our view: warm whites age better than stark whites beside a gas hob, because tadka smoke slowly yellows everything near it and a cream start hides that drift. Choose a beige by its undertone against your counter: pink-beige with red or brown granite, yellow-beige with black or grey.
4. Wood comes back as the second tone
Ashley Banbury said natural wood and Celery "play off of one another" (Hunker), and CenturyLaminates names its new oak-inspired Willow Wood as suited to kitchen shutters. On MOA, Himanshu Dua's Rohtak residence (2025) shows ivory shutters below glass-fronted cabinets lined in dark wood.
How to use it at home
Our view: wood-look laminate on the tall or wall units, with a plain colour on the base, is the easiest two-tone to live with. Keep real veneer away from the sink and hob.
Two-tone schemes that work in Indian kitchens
"Light uppers, dark lowers" is still the default, but designers are loosening it. In a July 2026 Livingetc feature, designer Winnie Tam of 28 a.m. suggested repeating the second colour sparingly, on an island for example (Livingetc). Royale Touche's two-colour kitchen guide suggests matte grey base units under glossy white uppers, with its grey laminate KP 1639 (Royale Touche). The card below pairs shades each paint brand groups in its own 2027 palette; counter tones are illustrative and the stone pairings are our view.
Our guidance for any two-tone:
- Two colours plus one material. An Indian kitchen already carries steel, jars and appliances; a third shutter colour looks busy.
- Put the colour block where your eye lands: the tall bank at the end of a parallel kitchen, or the base run under the window in an L or U.
- Match finishes. Matt green beside gloss white reads as two kitchens. Keep both matt, or keep gloss to glass-fronted wall units.
How colour reads under Indian kitchen light
Most Indian kitchens get light from one window, often onto a utility balcony or duct, plus a ceiling light and the chimney lamp. That changes cabinet colour more than any trend.
- Read the LRV. It runs from about 0 for black to 100 for pure white. Our guidance: in a one-window kitchen, keep one large surface, the wall units or the tall bank, above about 60, like Dove 9854 or Celery SW 6421.
- Check the window direction. Benjamin Moore notes that north light is indirect and "tends to be cool", which dulls grey and blue-leaning colours, while south light is warmer and can be intense at midday (Benjamin Moore). Our view: sage can turn grey in a north-facing kitchen, while olive and celery hold up better.
- Judge under your own lamps. The same guide says LED and fluorescent light is less tonally balanced than old incandescent bulbs. Our guidance: cool-white tube lights make greens look grey and beiges look dirty.
- Allow for the monsoon. Weeks of overcast light make mid-tones read darker. If you are torn between two greens, take the lighter one (our guidance).
- Test a real sample against your counter in the morning, afternoon and night. A screen swatch, including those on our card, is only a guide.

Stylam's TouchMe range similarly claims to repel "oils and fingerprints" (Stylam). Century's care advice: a damp cloth for most cleaning, a soft brush with mild detergent for tougher stains, and no acidic cleaners, abrasive pads or hot vessels on the surface. Century's comparison of acrylic and laminate is on its blog. None of the makers we checked gives turmeric advice. Our guidance: wipe haldi and oil the same day with mild dishwash liquid, and before you commit to a pale shade, leave a little haldi paste on the sample for an hour and wipe it. If it stains, go darker or warmer on the base units.
What to pair with granite, quartz and steel
Your counter usually comes first and lasts longest, so choose shutters to suit it. This is our view, with member examples.
- Black granite: works with almost every 2027 colour, best with petrol blue as in the Madhusudan Row House, or with deep olive and warm white. Avoid black shutters on black granite in a dim kitchen.
- Grey granite: soft greens and warm whites. Cool grey shutters make it read flat.
- Tan, brown and red granites: need warm partners such as cream, beige, wicker tones and wood, like the cream shutters on the red-toned counter in Manya Babu's Coonoor kitchen. Cool blues and greys fight these stones.
- White or beige quartz: the most flexible base. Celery, Webster Green and deep olives all sit well on it.
- Stainless steel: sinks, racks, vessels and appliances look sharpest against greens, blues and taupes; grey shutters with steel can feel like an office pantry.

What will date fast (our view)
- A whole kitchen in one trend green. Green on one bank of units, with white, wood or stone around it, will last longer.
- Dark high-gloss base units, which show every fingerprint and oil mark.
- Cool grey everywhere, the look the warmer 2027 neutrals are replacing.

Anti-fingerprint super matt is the easiest to keep clean near the hob. Century's own comparison notes that gloss acrylic may show fingerprints and minor abrasions more easily, so keep gloss for wall units (our view).
What colour shutters go with black granite?
Our view: petrol blue, deep olive, sage, warm white and wood. Avoid black or very dark grey shutters on black granite if the kitchen gets little daylight.
Has Asian Paints announced a 2027 colour of the year?
Not when we checked on 18 October 2026. Its ColourNext page still showed the 2026 colour, Moonlit Silk (7809).
